D20 Desk: Initiative Tracker app for Android (iPhone coming soon)
Last updated 2026-10-29
D20 Desk: Initiative Tracker is the table-side companion for game masters of fifth-edition tabletop role-playing games. It takes the initiative tracker and the encounter builder from this site and adds what a phone can do at the table.
Phone app
The tools on this site run in any browser. The app adds what only a phone at the table can do.
What only the app does
Turn order you do not have to open
Between turns you are talking, not tapping. The order stays where you will see it without unlocking the phone.
- Android: On Google Play now An ongoing notification shows who is up and who is next, with Next and Back buttons.
- iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Coming soon The order sits on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a Next turn button.
Your turn order on your wrist
Keep the phone in your pocket and the game moving: a glance at your wrist tells you who is up.
- iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Coming soon The Apple Watch app shows the turn order and moves to the next turn.
Players follow on their own phones
No more "whose turn is it?" and no passing your screen around. Players scan a QR code and see the order in their browser.
- Android: On Google Play now No app and no account for players. It works on your local Wi-Fi only and closes when combat ends. Monster hit points show only as hurt or badly hurt.
- iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Coming soon The same table link: players scan a QR code, no app and no account, local Wi-Fi only.

Print the encounter before game night
Prep is paper at the table: tent cards for the initiative order, creature cards and a screen page, ready in one tap.
- Android: On Google Play now Initiative tent cards, monster stat cards and a game-master screen page as a PDF, US Letter or A4.
- iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Coming soon The same prep pack as a PDF, US Letter or A4.

Next turn without opening anything
In the middle of a story you should not hunt for a button. Say it, tap it on the Home Screen or press it.
- iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Coming soon Ask Siri or use Shortcuts or the Action button for Next turn and Roll d20, or tap Next turn in the widget.
Same parties on iPhone and iPad
Build the party on the tablet, run the fight on the phone.
- iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Coming soon Optional iCloud sync, off until you switch it on.

What the app does
- Roll initiative for everyone in one tap, track hit points, temporary hit points, death saves, conditions with a round countdown and concentration, with 30 steps of undo.
- Players follow along in their own browser: they scan a QR code and see the turn order, no app, no account. It works on your local Wi-Fi only and closes when combat ends.
- Encounter builder with over 340 creatures from the System Reference Document 5.2.1, difficulty rating for your party, saved encounters.
- Print the prep pack: initiative tent cards, monster stat cards and a game-master screen page, US Letter or A4.
- Private by design: no account, no ads, no analytics. Everything stays on your device (privacy policy).
- Available in 30 languages.
